MILAN, Italy -- Mario Balotelli scored one goal and Kaka added two as AC Milan comfortably beat relegation-threatened Chievo Verona 3-0 Saturday to give coach Clarence Seedorf consecutive victories for the first time since being hired in January. Balotelli volleyed in a cross from Adil Rami four minutes in at the San Siro. Kaka doubled the lead in the 27th after controlling a lob pass from Keisuke Honda and the Brazil playmaker scored again in the 54th with a long, angled shot that went in off the post. The victory moved Milan level with Lazio in eighth place, six points behind Inter Milan in the race for fifth and the final Europa League berth. A week ago, Seedorfs job seemed at risk but Milan has now picked up points in three consecutive matches. "Its a special moment for us," said Kaka, who made his 300th appearance in the Italian league. "Football is great like that. Everything can change in a hurry." Earlier, Atalanta won 2-0 at Bologna for a club-record sixth straight victory in Serie A. Atalanta is four points ahead of Milan in seventh. Balotellis goal was the 45th of his Serie A career -- in 95 matches -- and it followed another strong performance in a 2-0 win over Fiorentina on Wednesday, when he scored one goal and set up another. Milan could have had another goal in the 38th when Balotelli set up Honda with only the goalkeeper to beat but the Japan international wasted the opportunity by shooting high. Kakas strong performance came after Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed before kickoff that he has a contractual option to leave Milan if the squad does not qualify for the Champions League. "Im happy here and hope to stay," said Kaka, who rejoined Milan from Real Madrid in September. Chievo had a chance to pull one back but a penalty from Cyril Thereau in added time hit the crossbar following a foul by Milan defender Cristian Zaccardo. The only other negative note for Milan came when midfielder Sulley Muntari was carried off on a stretcher in the first half with an apparent ankle injury. In Bologna, forward Giuseppe De Luca put Atalanta ahead in the 22nd after stripping Bologna midfielder Diego Perez and dribbling in to score. Four minutes later, Paraguayan midfielder Marcelo doubled the lead after trading passes with De Luca and beating goalkeeper Gianluca Curci from 20 metres (yards). During its winning streak, Atalanta has outscored the opposition 12-2. Chievo and Bologna remained three and two points, respectively, above the relegation zone. Martin Maldonado Jersey . Jussi Jokinen and Brian Campbell had two assists apiece in the highest-scoring performance of the season by the Panthers, who had an NHL-low 27 goals entering the game.It was just one of those games where everything was clicking, and we were all working hard, said Bjugstad, who had the highest-scoring game of his young career. We knew what we were up against, and we were up to the challenge. That was exciting.Boyes ended an eight-game goal drought and scored his 450th career point, adding an assist while staking Florida to a five-goal lead in the third period. He combined for nine points with Bjugstad and Huberdeau, who also had an assist.Al Montoya made 33 saves for the Panthers, who hadnt won in Anaheim since Nov. 9, 2008.It was an archetypal trap game for the Ducks, who faced Florida between a home-and-home set with the archrival Los Angeles Kings and two upcoming Pacific Division games in western Canada. The Panthers made sure the Ducks fell straight into the snare.(Anaheim) played yesterday in Los Angeles and had a tough, emotional game, Florida coach Gerard Gallant said. We caught them a little bit flat, for sure.Hampus Lindholm and Andrew Cogliano scored for the Ducks, whose seven-game points streak ended in their fifth loss in six games despite the return of Perry, who missed the previous five games with mumps.I felt better than I expected, but it didnt go the way we planned for anybody, said Perrry, the NHLs first star for October.dddddddddddd. It was an off night for all of us. Theyve got some speed and some firepower over there, and they showed it tonight.Kyle Palmieri also made his season debut for the Ducks, who had gone to overtime in their last five games, setting a franchise record. They couldnt keep it close after Frederik Andersen gave up three goals on Floridas first nine shots, getting chased for the second time in three games. No one in this room was ready, starting from the net on out, said Andersen, who returned for the third period after Jason LaBarbera gave up two more goals. Thats unacceptable in this league, and we paid for it.Anaheims improved defence has yielded 14 goals in three games, culminating with an inept effort that the Ducks didnt blame on their goalies.I think were just embarrassed, Getzlaf said. Its embarrassing to play like that in our building. Top to bottom, we werent very good. We emotionally werent there. We didnt make any plays that we needed to do.Palmieri returned after sitting out 18 games with a sprained ankle, but injury-plagued Anaheim still is without defenceman Francois Beauchemin, who missed his fourth game with mumps, while Tim Jackman missed the game with the flu. After Trocheck and Lindholm traded goals in the first period, Boyes put the Panthers back ahead early in the second when a sharp pass from Huberdeau deflected off his skate. Bjugstad chased Andersen moments later with a sharp-angled shot.NOTES: Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu watched the game from a luxury suite.
