Police spokesperson Charity Charamba was quoted by the state-run Herald newspaper Tuesday as saying that the commuter omnibus was evading a vehicle inspection department (VID) check point when it rammed into the oncoming vehicle.
"A commuter omnibus was travelling from Murehwa towards Harare with about 23 passengers. It was stopped at a VID checkpoint and the driver wanted to evade the check point. He then went into the right lane, which is the opposite lane, where there was also another commuter omnibus," Charamba said.
Charamba urged drivers to be always cautious when on the roads and to obey road rules and regulations.

In recent years, product quality in China is quietly edging up as the country is seeking to shift its growth equation away from exports and investment toward consumption.
