He had not missed a game in his six years in the Motor City and now the Lions will need to find a way to make up the lost snaps. The team has three options:They could promote from within. Safety Tracy Walker showed a lot of promise in his rookie season and his speed and athletic ability could make him a great back end safety. He definitely has the coverage range to get the job done, but his football instincts may be lacking as he was a very raw product coming out of college. The draft is an option as well. While this years safety class is not as great as the 2018 class that produced Minkah Fitzpatrick and Derwin James, there are a few players Detroit may consider taking early on. Washington’s Taylor Rapp and Alabama’s Deionte Thompson are two names who have been flying up draft boards recently. Free agency could be a third option. The likes of Tre Boston and Lamarcus Joyner could be great signings that wont break the bank. If Detroit does feel like they need to break the bank then they could always make a play for the ultimate prize, New York Giants safety Landon Collins.The team has three options to choose from, all three seem valid at the moment.
